ONB IN MVC: HOW IT CAME TO BE
True to its vision and mission which is to accelerate countryside development through expanding its presence in the countryside and providing modern and responsive financial services, One Network Bank (ONB) is now providing Mountain View College with a one-of-a- kind banking experience. For many years now, Mountain View College has negotiated with some depository banks to possibly provide specific services -- an ATM machine, for example, that would enhance MVC's ability to serve its students. However, such transactions yielded no results.
MVC's commitment to provide quality service for its students, on the other hand, had not died with each proposal rejection. Whenever I go home to South Cotabato, I observe that in Valencia City, Maramag, and even in farther places such as Tulunan, Tacurong City, and Koronadal City, my hometown ONB branches are present. This observation and the One Network Bank's slogan "Pera sa Mindanao para sa Mindanao" led us to check the bank's background.
NEW GAZEBOS
The Rio Grande Valley Chapter (MVC Alumni in Texas), under the leadership of Mr. Eleazar Nuique, has sent $3,000 as advanced payment for the cost of building new gazebos on campus. A big THANK YOU to all the MVC alumni in Texas, U.S.A. for the gift.
AIRSTRIP RESTORATION
Plans are underway to restore the college airstrip in preparation for the offering of aircraft mechanics and mission pilot training in the future. Don Starlin, president of the Adventist World Aviation Ministry, and Ed Brennan of the Philippine Frontier Mission and Adventist World Aviation, Philippines, have discussed this matter with President Daniel Dial. According to Brennan, Cessna plane has been sitting at Andrews University (Michigan, U.S.A.) for sometime now, waiting to be transported to the Philippines. There is likelihood that this plane will be shipped to Mountain View College. Jeff Bill and his wife have indicated their interest in coming to join us at MVC for this program.
